Auction to raise scholarship money

MADISON - The Wisconsin Holstein Association will award almost $10,000 in scholarships at the annual junior Holstein convention Jan. 2-4 at the Madison Marriott West in Middleton.

An auction to help raise money will be during the evening banquet Saturday, Jan. 3.

Items donated to the scholarship fund include a Kalahari Resort two-night stay and a Chula Vista one-night stay. Two sets of UW-Madison men's basketball tickets will be auctioned off for games against Northwestern Jan. 7 and Minnesota Jan. 15. A pair of UW-Madison men's hockey tickets have been donated by Ted Halbach, with the game to be determined.

A certificate for a choice of a Bonnie Mohr, a Rowe Pottery water cooler and the sixth giclee of the "Ladies of Wisconsin" print will be auctioned, and a Progress Clippers donated by Andis Company will be available.

Rick Daluge has donated a choice of one week of summer lodging or four nights midweek during the winter at The Doctor's House, a refurbished mining house near Hurley.

The Milwaukee Bucks have donated four basketball tickets for lower-section seats valued at $60 each to the game of the buyer's choice within the 2008-09 regular season. A Green Bay Packers helmet signed by Nick Collins also will be available.

An International 1026 Gold Demonstrator pedal tractor donated by Case IH and Krista Knigge and a show basket donated by Nasco in Fort Atkinson will be sold.
