The Wisconsin Independent Livestock Dealers and Auction Markets will hold their Annual Meeting and Convention Feb. 28-March 1. The event will be held at the Hotel Mead in Wisconsin Rapids.
The session gets underway on Friday evening, Feb. 27th with a reception in the hospitality room.
Saturday morning Feb 28th, the business meeting starts at l0 a.m. Items on the agenda are reports from Pat O’Brien, representative on the Wisconsin Beef Council and Clyde Patterson, representing Agency Bonding Services. A representative for the Wisconsin
Beef Council, and Wisconsin Livestock Identification Consortium will also be elected. President Dave Matthes of Viola will present his yearly report. Other officers are vice president Jim Kirschbaum, Bloomington; secretary Tom Clayton, Belmont; and Debbie Matthes, Viola, Treasurer.
The Saturday afternoon session will convene at 1:15 p.m. Speakers on the program are Cindy Partridge, Compliance Officer for the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Health Division. Gary Sutherland will discuss the Wisconsin Livestock Identification Program. Bruce Gardner of the Midwest Regional Office of the Packers and Stockyards Administration at Des Moines, Iowa will discuss the changes in the Packers and Stockyards Administration and Norval Dvorak, Manitowoc, will give a presentation entitled “The Changing Livestock Industry.” A special program for the ladies is scheduled for Saturday afternoon. Saturday evening will be highlighted by the Annual Banquet, Auction and entertainment.
