A Wisconsin man, Ralph Chicorel has sold his collection of about 110 comics from the late 30s and 40s at a Dallas-based auction house for about $623,000. Heritage Auction Galleries reports that the comic books had been auctioned off over Memorial Day weekend. Chicorel's comics were in perfect condition...obviously raising their value significantly. Although many collectors refuse to even so much as open their collectibles, Chicorel as a kid had done so very carefully. According to Heritage Auction Galleries, "Marvel Mystery Comics" No. 9 had sold for about $108,000. |
